Website

This was a very neat idea to compose everything we have completed in this course into a website! It also is a great idea. This website can be used as a tool for future employers or future students and their parents to navigate. Clearly this website is the coolest communication tool to share information! When incorporating the activities on the site some things I had to put more effort and energy into than others but overall I am really proud of my accomplishments and knowledge I have gained in putting this together. As I look back over the course of the semester and I was so intimidated at first with this technology. Now I have a better sense of computer usage and it makes me so happy! I am so grateful for this TPTE 486 technology class! Right here at the end of the semester as the holiday season is approaching I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas gift!

iMovie

This iMovie activity was a bit confusing for me at first. The part after I inserted the titles onto my photos, two photos would pop up for that slide and then when I inserted my transitions it made my music skip and I wasn't sure if I was doing it right. Eventually I got the hang of it! It it turned out to be a really cool project. Overall this is a good learning tool to share with a class. This would keep learners attentive and engaged. And it is always fun to watch a movie!

Blogging

I am learning how to save videos and images on line and get more familiar with templates. Such as jpeg to save photo images and the embed icon to save and share videos. At first I really didn't know how and where to go to save and upload files but now I can go to google and share images such as my blog and put things like youtube on there. When people go to my blog they will be interested in my page vs. being on the youtube page and being distracted by all the other videos.

Spread Sheets in Excel

Oh my Goodness! The outcome of the spread sheet activity looked nice and is a good learning tool that students can learn through but I have to say it was time consuming and not that easy to follow. By the time I put together a learning activity with excel spread sheets I could have graded a whole class of worksheets. Even though I didn't have the best time piecing it together I would still incorporate it because once formatted I could always use it. Usually for children any learning activity on the computer is always fun to be involved in and the knowledge gained is always beneficial.

Using Inspiration on Macintosh

Using Inspiration on Mac was very relative to getting ideas out and conveying information. This icon offers learning to take place through web designs, mapping, and diagrams. It was easy to use and follow the instructions. This component of Mac basically allows students to highlight all the key points that others need to know. In some way I think of it like a fact sheet with pictures. I do believe students will enjoy working with Inspiration.

Digital Scavenger Hunt

The Digital Scavenger hunt was really cool. This is a activity that allows the students hands-on to get involved with technology. This was a collaborative assignment. It allows students to use technology, share ideas, and work together. Our group chose to do the "opposites" scavenger hunt, which was really fun coming up with ideas and seeing the outcome. I would definitely incorporate this learning activity into my classroom.

Midterm Evaluation

Over the course of this semester I have learned how to use Macintosh computers and have gained confidence in using them. As I have said before I was a bit intimidated of "how to use" a Mac. Before I didn't know exactly what templates to go to, I can definitely say I am learning! The things I have completed so far are very beneficial for future educators and just nice to know! Things such as posting wikis for a classroom, webquest, blogs, Digital Scavenger hunts, and using inspiration is the new way to convey information. I actually enjoyed incorporating the teaching curriculum standards to each project, before this class I had never done that. Teachers, parents, and students can share knowledge to learn in a fun way. It feels good to know I have gained knowledge with technology it makes me feel intelligent. These activities I have been an hands-on experience that allows all who engage to be truly engaged.

The Digital Experience

This was all about getting more familiar with with the tools available on the web. I actually had fun with Picasa. Just the experience of learning new short cuts (shift, apple and 4) is an easy cool way to get screen shots. I'm learning how to use Macintosh computers vs. the regular PC and it makes me feel privileged that I am gaining new knowledge and learning how to apply it. Through this digital experience I was taught more about Google Documents and how it has sooo much to offer. It allows me to store much more information and save all kinds of documents. It also gave me the opportunity to get connected with iGoogle and I enjoy using it because it is so user friendly!

Lesson Plans

This learning process of putting together lesson plans are so neat, resourceful, and useful! I enjoyed this project and I am sure the students will also! The lesson plans we as a class (TPTE 486) came up with has core content to cover any information needed to teach children in a variety of ways by integrating technology in the classroom. This activity keeps children focused and motivated and the teachers can stay on task and provide learning at its best. These lessons plans of preparing to use technology should be incorporated into every state and school to ensure all the learning needs of students will be met.

Web Quest Idea

The web quest is the best yet by far. It gives an exceptional array of information. It holds all kinds of ideas for those who log on to collaborate in many ways. It has activities to navigate, project resources, guides, and even on line libraries. It serves information in many different learning styles that are only a click away.

My Web Quest experience is really neat for reviewing and sharing information and it will be VERY useful in the classroom for students and parents as well as other teachers to follow along. I am grateful I am learning a lot about Wiki and Web Quest, like posting insights, interest, and information. It is a great tutorial that gives some short cuts to learning. It also gives the opportunities to growth and development as a teacher and learner.

Web Evaluation

This activity helped assist in learning Educational awareness about the forest fires effecting Northern California's Community. This activity also helped me become more familiar with accessing different websites, giving me insight to convey and differentiate what is factual on websites. In comparison and contrast with other websites some are more informative and researched based while others are not.

Blogs classroom reflection

When using Blogs in the classroom it is the most informative I have seen yet! Teachers and students gain from this website. Teachers can review other lesson plans, instructional videos, and just over all stay current on daily activities. Students can will be interactive, as well as their parents. It is a discussion board were the the students can participate and learn. It is a way to stay connected and to be apart of what is happening.
I could use this in my classroom to help identify the needs of students and answer questions of students and parents.
Learning how to put together a classroom blog will be very beneficial! It looks good and keeps all who are interested current. It will be awesome for future employers to screen and see if how much they are interested in their employees.
When putting together this blog the computer says it is easy, but I still say it is a bit of a challenge to put it together nicely.

Technology Journey 486

This course is very informative for me. I haven't had much technology experience in the past.I usually use the Internet only for e-mail or to research a subject. This technology 486 is giving me insight of what the world around me is doing all day. This is imperative for communication in today's world we live in.
